Will Hughes is surely worried about rumours emerging from Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace are in the midst of a busy summer transfer window but one rumour will have Will Hughes worried about his future.
The Oliver Glasner revolution is well underway at Selhurst Park with two exciting arrivals already confirmed by the club, with Chadi Riad and Daichi Kamada both being signed.
This looks likely to be added to by Ryan Sessegnon who has been training with the club, in the hopes of earning a contract.
But Crystal Palace are far from done this summer with multiple other players being targeted and positions needing to be strengthened.
This includes a possible Michael Olise replacement, a striker and a midfielder with further defensive additions also desired.
But one man will be concerned about the links we’ve seen emerge this week.
What are the latest Crystal Palace rumours
For Will Hughes, the past week will have been slightly concerning due to the fact that two midfielders have been linked with making the move to Selhurst Park.
Both Aster Vranckx and Arthur Melo have been linked, although it is Vranckx which appears more likely as Palace push to sign him this summer.
The likelihood of this happening keeps growing as HITC reported that Palace are leading the race to sign the exciting Belgian this summer.
The Eagles are beating interest from Everton and Nottingham Forest which, is exciting to see considering the qualities Vranckx has and his high potential which he’s yet to reach.
However signing Vranckx leaves Hughes in a weird situation and far down the pecking order for Glasner.
Will Hughes should be concerned about Vranckx interest
For Hughes, a one-year extension probably told him all he needs to hear about his future at Selhurst Park, beyond this season, it’s unlikely he has one.
Interest in Vranckx would only further push him down the pecking order considering the talented midfield group currently in place at the club.
Six players for two positions put simply means two players will be regularly missing out and based on the fact the first three are top-class and trusted by Glasner, it’s hard to imagine Hughes getting game-time.
Therefore his future at Selhurst Park looks grim. That being said he could shock everyone and force himself into the Austrian’s plans. But for now, he should be worried.
