POWERFUL prop Jordan Morris has been given the chance to show what he can do as a Wales starter in the World Rugby U20 Championship clash with Australia after ‘simmering’ on the bench.
WAINO RULED OUT OF AUSTRALIA TOUR
Dragons RFC ace Aaron Wainwright is to return from Australia afer being ruled out of the rest of the Wales tour with injury.
Wainwright suffered a hamstring injury in the final minute in the first Test in Sydney after an impressive display onn his 50th cap.
“It is disappointing for him and us, he was outstanding last week,” said Warren Gatland.
“One of the things I’ve been challenging on over recent months is I felt there’s another level in him.
“As a player, you’d see really good touches from him, but he might drift in and out of games.
“You’ve seen in the last couple of games that there’s been a real step-up in terms of his
performances.”
THE Dragons won’t have a Welsh derby against the Ospreys in the Challenge Cup and will host two French teams.
The Rodney Parade club have been drawn in Pool Two for the competition along with Montpellier, Pau, Newcastle, the Lions and Ospreys.
The clunky format for the second-tier European tournament – won by the Sharks of South Africa last season – sees teams play four of their five pool rivals once, either home or away.
In a draw that won’t do much for their finances, the Dragons will not face the Ospreys and will instead face the Top 14 duo in Newport, travel to the north east of England and Johannesburg.
