Cam Newton’s Seemingly Bitter Take on San Francisco 49ers’ Brock Purdy

Newton has been critical of Purdy for some time now, which came in a season when many was hailing the 49ers signal-caller and labeling him as a potential MVP. Although Lamar Jackson has since taken the lead in the said race, there were still many who was hyping up Purdy.

The former Carolina Panthers star and one-time NFL MVP, however, isn’t one of those people. In fact, it’s the opposite. His criticism of Purdy started in early December when he highlighted that the 49ers youngster is merely a “game manager” who has benefited from having a talented team around him.

More recently after the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl 58 with Purdy leading the way, Newton added more shocking take on the Mr. Irrelevant of the 2022 NFL Draft, claiming he’s the 10th best player on the Niners.

Coming to the defense of Brock Purdy, Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp fired back at Cam Newton’s remarks and basically said he has no right to make such statements towards other QBs and players because he has never been “THAT” guy.

“Cam is just being an a**. I don’t know why but he is. Brock Purdy did a milk check at the end of that game. Did you see it when he took off for a first down? Good ol milk check …” Sapp said of Newton.
