After ‘reach agreement’ to sign £18m ‘major talent’ on Deadline Day deal with medicals set as he arrives soon
Deadline Day has come to life at Compton as Wolves are prepared to welcome another face in the summer transfer window.
Yesterday, Bastien Meupiyou became the Old Gold’s fifth arrival of the summer, joining the four players who had signed earlier in the window at Molineux.
Tommy Doyle made his loan from Manchester City permanent and was followed by Rodrigo Gomes, Jorgen Strand Larsen and Pedro Lima.
Wolves’ presence in the transfer market went stagnant between mid-July and late August however, things have now started to come to life.
Wolves agree Deadline Day deal to sign Carlos Forbs from Ajax
Andre will sign for Wolves once his medical is completed after the club reached an agreement with Fluminense for his transfer.
While at first, the midfielder was thought to be the only Deadline Day arrival, there could now be at least one more surprise at Compton.
Journalist David Ornstein reported that following interest, Wolves have ‘reached an agreement’ to sign Carlos Forbs from Ajax.
The Manchester City academy graduate will join Wolves on an initial loan with an option to buy next summer for a fee of €13.5m (£11m).
Ornstein added that the 20-year-old is now travelling from the Netherlands to complete his transfer to Molineux in a Deadline Day surprise for the Old Gold.
As mentioned, Forbs isn’t expected to be the only new arrival at Compton today, with Andre set to be unveiled in the coming hours.
It’s also suspected that a centre-back could be in the works, as per a report from talkSPORT’s Alex Crook.
Fans will be delighted to see such a strong end to the transfer window happen at the club, after several years of feeling let down in the summer due to the need to offload key players.
Forbs is an exciting player, with the Wolves target dubbed a “major talent” by scout Antonio Mango during his time in City’s academy.
Wolves are strapped in and ready to see a dramatic end to Deadline Day unfold, with several new faces set to arrive.
The club are set to offload Daniel Podence, with Al-Shabab set to land the winger ahead of Olympiacos.
Luke Cundle could also go, and Villarreal are trying to see about signing Goncalo Guedes, despite an earlier claim that the forward was almost certain to stay.
In the last hour, Wolves have reportedly made progress in their pursuit of winger Carlos Forbs. An agreement has now been reached between Wolves and Ajax for the player’s transfer.
It has been reported this afternoon by E&S journalist that Chiquinho could be on his way out of Molineux if the club land Forbs from Ajax.
Keen wrote on X: “As a result of this move, Chiquinho is being lined up for a potential loan move before the window slams shut at 11pm tonight.”
