Two major moves confirmed at Leicester as next step in transfer market looks close but still a tricky window
Silko Thomas will be out on loan at Wigan next season. Officially confirmed and a move that makes sence and looks logical. Thomas (20) joined from Chelsea, being released there a year ago. His first season at Leicester was in real a success, scoring and playing regularly in the U.21 team, and also being brought into the first team squad on occasions. He will now hopefully be able to build on his good records and take further steps as the winger hopefully will get regular first team football under manager Shaun Maloney.
Steve Cooper has two wins in two attempts after a good opening to the pre-season campaign. He has in a flash brought in a new coaching staff and still there will most certainly be more additions. Ben Dawson, previously with Newcastle, has joined Leicester and will take a step up from academy work to the first team group.
There are of course a number of different areas to look for in the jobs in and around the first team group, according to Transfermarkt he is seen as one to follow up players on individual matters. Ben Dawson has been attached to Newcastle for the last 10 seasons in different roles at their academy, and his knowledge will certainly be of great importance for Leicester going forward.
Leicester do have a reputation to bring forward young players and also have a gap to fill after Ben Petty who joined Birmingham to become the assistant manager under Chris Davies, so the club also needs to bring in more heads to cover more.
Leicester have not been silent in this transfer window, signing up five players so far, two of them, Abdul Fatawu and Wilfred Ndidi both played at the club last season, so in real not new, but Kaleb Okoli, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Michael Golding are all new faces.
There are of course interest to bring in more players, and they looks to be in chases for new players, but it all looks difficult, with all the different uncertainties being there, regarding points deductions and more.
