Boro kick off their campaign on Saturday, August 10th, with a home clash versus Swansea City.

Riley McGree has signed a new contract this week, keeping him at the Riverside Stadium until 2028.

Elsewhere, Delano Burgzorg, Aidan Morris and Luke Ayling have been brought in to improve the first-team squad.

However, there are still expected to be further incomings at Middlesbrough, with Boro News understanding that the club are aiming to sign another striker in the 2024 summer window.

Sunderland interested in Middlesbrough target Will Lankshear
One striker Middlesbrough have already looked at this summer is 19-year-old Tottenham Hotspur player, Will Lankshear.

Teesside Live reported in May that Boro had already scouted the centre-forward as the club are keen to strengthen Carrick’s forward line.

Now, it appears a Championship rival of Middlesbrough is also interested in the teenager.

Give Me Sport report that Lankshear has signed a new five-year contract with Tottenham and is likely to be loaned out in the current window.

Both Sunderland and Hull City, as well as Wrexham United, have made enquiries over a potential move.

Should Middlesbrough sign Will Lankshear
Lankshear joined Tottenham’s youth ranks from Sheffield United in August 2022.

He has since shone for their U21 side, scoring 25 and assisting three in 26 outings last term.

There is some risk involved in signing Lankshear as he is yet to play senior football at any level.

However, with Emmanuel Latte Lath leading the line for Middlesbrough and Josh Cobrun an ok backup, Carrick can afford to take a risk when it comes to adding a third striker.

Luke Ayling kicked off the Teessiders’ summer business, joining on a free transfer from Leeds United.

Delano Burgzorg then arrived from German outfit Mainz 05 before Aidan Morris made a switch to the Riverside Stadium from the MLS.
