Leicester City Stars Makes Crucial Decision Regarding Future Which Shocken The Fans
Leicester City have now confirmed promotion back to the Premier League and will start work on shaping the squad ahead of what will be a tough campaign in the top-flight.
When the Foxes were relegated from the Premier League last season in unprecedented fashion, there was a major overhaul within the first-team. The likes of Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu, Youri Tielemans, James Maddison and Timothy Castagne all left the club despite being at the King Power Stadium as a collective for several years.
However, with Enzo Maresca at the helm, the former top-flight champions put together a squad that could not only compete for promotion but could come away as deserved champions of the Championship. Following a 2-0 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, Leicester City finished the campaign just three points shy of 100 points.
Upon return to the promised land, Maresca’s men are awaiting a two-point deduction for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules last season so it could be a tricky ten months for the club straight from the off.
Nevertheless, work will now begin on turning the squad into one that is good enough to remain in the division next season and can potentially compete for a mid-table finish. But one man who may not be around to help the club achieve this feat is Kelechi Iheanacho.
According to reports in Nigeria, via Caught Offside, the 27-year-old is set to reject a new deal to remain with the East Midlands outfit. Iheanacho will be a free agent this summer, and despite Leicester offering him the chance to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium, he is keen to walk away for free after seven years at the club.

Iheanacho’s time at Leicester City has gone quite stale. Once regarded as one of the most promising, young centre-forwards in Europe during his time at Manchester City, the Nigeria international has bagged just six goals in 26 appearances for the club across the 2023/24 season in what is supposed to be his ‘prime’ years as a player.
It was revealed over the past few weeks that Aston Villa have emerged as front-runners for Iheanacho’s signature so perhaps he feels that a move to Villa Park, remaining in the Midlands, is the best option for his career right now.
Football Insider have reported that Leicester are interested in signing the 26-year-old on a free transfer in the summer.
O’Hare has starred for the Sky Blues so far this season, helping them challenge for the top six and reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
The creative midfielder reportedly told the club that he will be leaving on a free transfer in the summer, rejecting any attempt to get him to sign an extension with Coventry.
This is a huge loss for the Sky Blues, who stuck by the midfielder throughout his injury troubles over the past two seasons.
Leicester being linked with him could signal that Dewsbury-Hall could exit the club due to financial constraints.
The club could still be hit with a points deduction or a fine next season due to breaking financial fair play rules, and could be forced to sell Keirnan Dewsbury-Hall in the summer to avoid such sanctions.
However, they will have to be wary that the Foxes are not the only club linked with a move for the Coventry star.
