Minnesota Wild Acquires Turner Elson from the New York Rangers in Exchange for Nic Petan
SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired forward Turner Elson from the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Nic Petan. Elson will report to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Elson, 31 (9-13-1992), has played in 579 games and recorded 263 points (117-146=263), 433 penalty minutes (PIM), 13 power-play goals (PPG) and 14
game-winning goals (GWG) over 13 AHL seasons with Abbotsford (2011-14), Adirondack (2014-15), San Antonio (2016-17), Grand Rapids (2017-22) and Hartford (2022-24). He has recorded 12 points (5-7=12) and 23 PIM in 38 games for Hartford this season. He has skated in three career NHL games with the Calgary Flames (2015-16) and Detroit Red Wings (2021-22), recording an assist.
Petan, 28 (3-12-1995), has 281 points (92-189=281) in 281 career AHL games over eight seasons with Manitoba (2015-18), Toronto (2019-21), Abbotsford (2021-22) and Iowa (2022-24).
