Fabrizio Romano drops big Wolves transfer update with £21m deal now close
Wolves have been in Carabao Cup action tonight, but things have also been happening away from the pitch.
The transfer window is closing 48 hours and Wolves fans are hoping that Gary O’Neil will have a few new additions to boast of when all is said and done.
It is set to be a frantic end, with a number of players also set to leave.
One player who has been linked with Wolves in recent days is the Fluminense midfielder Andre.
And while Wolves have been in action at Molineux tonight against Burnley, there has been a big development regarding the Brazilian.
Wolves close to signing Fluminense midfielder Andre
In the last hour or so, the game’s top journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided a couple of updates on Wolves’ pursuit of Andre.
In his first message on X tonight, he wrote: “Wolves are closing in on deal to sign André from Fluminense, talks are at final stages! Negotiations advancing for €22m plus €3m add-ons, as @geglobo reported. Details being discussed to get it done.”
Romano then said in another message: “André to Wolves, almost there. Final details to sort and then… here we go.”
Earlier in the night, Globo Esporte had reported the breakthrough about Wolves and Andre.

This comes as a bit of a surprise. Because arguably, there are other positions that need strengthening more. Wolves’ pool of midfield options right now is pretty strong.
But the potential incoming of Andre now casts doubt on a couple of players at Molineux.
Boubacar Traore, who went off injured against Burnley just before half-time tonight, could potentially be an outgoing. He has been linked with Feyenoord in the last couple of days.
Luke Cundle could also be on his way out if Andre comes in.
Wolves progressed to the next round of the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 win over Burnley at Molineux.
Gary O’Neil’s side had a lot to prove after the abysmal showing that the home supporters witnessed on Sunday.
The 6-2 defat to Chelsea was forgiven on Wednesday evening as a well-taken Goncalo Guedes brace was enough to secure the win for Wolves against Scott Parker’s Burnley.
It was an encouraging performance and a good opportunity for several fringe players to show their worth to O’Neil, which some certainly managed to do. Here’s how the players rated…

Dan Bentley – 6
Quiet night for Dan Bentley which he will be somewhat unhappy with considering it could represent his final appearance for the Old Gold.
