Coventry City man issues parting message with special mention to Adi Viveash

Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as outgoing striker Matty Godden takes to social media to say his goodbyes

Matty Godden has issued a farewell message to Coventry City and the club’s fans following his transfer to League One Charlton Athletic.

The 32-year-old striker has moved to the League One club for an ‘undisclosed’ fee, signing a two year contract at The Valley to bring an end to five years with the Sky Blues.

Taking to instagram to say his good-byes, Godden wrote: “On behalf of me and my family I want to thank you all the most incredible 5 years. From Champions of League 1 to 50 goals, it’s something I’m very proud of.

“I want to thank you all for your incredible support through the times at St Andrew’s and then to a full house at the CBS. A thank you to the gaffer and all his staff from Amanda & Marshy the kit guys to the physios and backroom staff.”

He added: “A massive thank you to Adi Viveash for developing me into a miles better player than what I arrived and helping me with the tough times off the pitch when I first arrived. I also want to thank an unsung hero Richard Overson who without him none of what’s happened would be possible. See you all soon. Godders”
