Ipswich Town in hot pursuit of signing Japhet Tanganga in Tottenham, Millwall transfer twist
John Wenham claims Ipswich Town are interested in signing Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the centre-back might be keen on making a return to the Premier League.
Tanganga spent the second half of the season on loan with Millwall in the Championship, with the Lions reportedly agreeing a deal with Spurs to sign the Englishman permanently (via Fabrizio Romano, 12 May).
But Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has revealed the Tractor Boys could throw a spanner in the works.
“I did see there was some talk about Ipswich potentially wanting him,” Wenham said.
“He might feel ready to go back to the Premier League, so let’s wait and see.”
Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga likely to favour Ipswich Town over Millwall
Tanganga shone while on loan at the Den.
He enjoyed a positive loan spell with Millwall and will therefore have some affection toward the club.
However, a return to first-team Premier League football might prove tempting.
If Ipswich Town do make an offer for the 25-year-old, it is difficult to see him turning it down.
Either way, it looks as if his future lies away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In other Tottenham news, the club are to negotiate for a Premier League ace after a “mad” £60million transfer claim.
