Club Successfully Include Sell-on Clause In Deal For Star To Join Coventry City
Hammarby have secured a sell-on clause and add-ons in the agreement to let goalkeeper Oliver Dovin move to Coventry City.
Coventry have been in talks to sign the shot-stopper from the Swedish side in recent weeks.
They now have an agreement in place with Hammarby and Dovin is expected to soon travel to England to be put through his medical paces.
According to Swedish outlet FotbollDirekt, the deal is worth about £1.6m, however add-ons worth £870,000 have been included.
Furthermore, Hammarby have included a sell-on clause set at 15 per cent in the agreement.
The deal is a highly lucrative one for the Swedish side and also hands Dovin the chance to test himself in the English Championship at Coventry.
He will depart Hammarby having made 84 appearances for the club and kept 28 clean sheets.
Dovin will now look to knuckle down at Coventry over the course of pre-season and impress boss Mark Robins.
They’ve got O’Hare, Callum O’Hare, I just don’t think we understand
Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as Sky Blues fans give their reaction to Callum O’Hare joining Championship rivals Sheffield United
Coventry City fans have been having their say on Callum O’Hare’s decision to follow another club favourite, Gustavo Hamer, to Sheffield United.
The big surprise, however, is that the attacking midfielder joins the Blades in the Championship rather then 12 months ago when Hamer joined United in the Premier League. That said, O’Hare will see his free transfer move from the Sky Blues to Bramall Lane as a stepping stone to the top flight, with Chris Wilder’s men expected to be competing for a swift return to the top table of English football.
Explaining the reasons behind his decision to join the South Yorkshire club, O’Hare said: “I am buzzing to be here. It is a big club; I had some interest from some other teams and other leagues but I just thought that this was the right step in my career so I can’t wait to go out there now and play.

“I have a lot of time for the players, fans and coaches at Coventry, they have been a big part of my life and my career, but I just felt that it was the right time to move on. I met Chris Wilder in Birmingham and from there I obviously knew what a top man he was. He kept in touch and since then the conversations kept flowing and I knew he was definitely the right person to work under.
Rob Ridgeway: Such a sideways move from @CalOhare. Strange decision. Could understand if they were still in the Premier League. Clearly money talks (and bad management from his agent). Blades are no better or worse then @Coventry_City. It just seems odd.
