Kieran McKenna: Fermanagh footballers inspired by Ipswich promotion

Alasdair Gold says Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is a big fan of £15m Tottenham player

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is reportedly a big fan of one Tottenham Hotspur player who’s set to leave this summer.

Tottenham have wasted no time in clearing the decks ahead of what looks set to be a defining transfer window for Ange Postecoglou.

Ryan Sessegnon, Japhet Tanganga, Eric Dier and Ivan Perisic all headed out the door on free transfers last week. Tanguy Ndombele looks set to be the next in line, with reports claiming the Frenchman has agreed to terminate his deal at Tottenham a year ahead of schedule.

Tottenham will now be working on picking up fees for a host of fringe players and Emerson Royal could be heading to AC Milan.

Genoa are also keen on making Djed Spence’s move to Italy permanent after his loan spell in Serie A last term. But Spurs will have to find a potential buyer for Joe Rodon after he missed out on promotion with Leeds United.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has suggested that newly-promoted Ipswich Town could emerge as an option for the Welshman.

The centre-back is expected to head out the door this summer despite Spurs taking up an option to extend his contract by a year last week.

“Joe Rodon will be heading off this summer, we will wait to see where he’s going,” Gold said.

“I’m intrigued to see whether he ends up somewhere like Ipswich. I know Kieran McKenna is quite a big fan of him, so I wonder whether that would be an option for him.”
