Ohio State lands exciting four-star recruit with a legendary name

Bo Jackson is one of the most legendary athletes in sports history. He was an All-Star baseball player in the MLB and a Pro Bowl running back in the NFL.

That’s not the Bo Jackson who just committed to Ohio State, but the Buckeyes have to be just as excited to have landed their newest four-star recruit.

Bo Jackson the recruit is from Cleveland, Ohio and much like his namesake, he’s quite the athlete. According to 247Sports, he’s the No. 3 running back in the 2025 class. According to On3, he’s the No. 4 athlete (meaning he can play multiple positions) in the 2025 cycle. He can also play linebacker or safety.

Despite offers from and high interest in the likes of Penn State, Kentucky, Georgia and Alabama, Jackson has decided to stay home and commit to Ohio State. He’s coming off an official visit to Columbus, and the face time with head coach Ryan Day as well as new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly really paid off.

“It’s always a good time meeting with coach Day. Pretty much his whole message is that he wants me there and that they’re really interested in me. And Ohio State is home. My parents like him a lot. He calls me every once in a while so I have a really good relationship with coach Day,” Jackson told On3 after the official visit.

It’s worth noting that Day and the Buckeyes are absolutely cooking on the 2025 recruiting trail. With the addition of Jackson, OSU’s class is ranked No. 2 nationally behind only Notre Dame.

Will Jackson be the next great Buckeye running back?

For what it’s worth, he rushed for over 10 yards a carry in 2023 with nearly 30 total touchdowns and 1,700 rushing yards.
