‘Work is underway’ – Club still want to sign Bournemouth player, ‘tried in January’ but Cherries said no
AC Milan continue to maintain interest in AFC Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly despite failing to secure his services in the winter market.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who provide a background on what happened in the last window and also the Serie A side’s plan for the summer.
The 25-year-old’s current deal at Bournemouth expires at the end of this season and the Rossoneri ‘tried in January’ to acquire his signature.
Milan were left disappointed in their pursuit as Andoni Iraola’s side refused to do business, even though they could lose him for nothing.
The Cherries’ attempt to renew his deal isn’t progressing well while several other clubs have identified the centre-back as a target.
Stefano Pioli’s side want him to arrive at the San Siro on a free transfer. To do this, they have to find an agreement with the Bournemouth player and his entourage.
As of now, there’s no deal in place but ‘work is underway’ from the Italian club to reach an agreement with Kelly.
