The crowd favorite wants to stay: “I love Skellefteå”

Jonathan Puda’s message after the bloody pictures

“Now you are a real hockey player”

Broken teeth and soup and chewy food for a week.

That’s the result for Jonathan Pudas after yesterday’s bloody images.

– Now you are a real hockey player, says Jonatan Pudas.

“We left bloodstains in our tracks,” Kent sings.

When Jonathan Pudas left Hägglunds Arena in Örnsköldsvik yesterday, he left blood spatter on the ice. The team captain had to have stitches and was unable to return to play in the match against Modo.

Today, the situation is better with the captain:

– I feel good. I lost a few teeth. Now it will be soup and easy-to-chew food for a week, says Pudas and announces that he will not miss any matches.

Oh, so there were some teeth ?

– Well, rather several halves of teeth, some that are damaged. There will be a visit to the dentist but it will probably be fine, that’s almost included.

Yes, that’s a bit of a stereotype for a hockey player – that there should be missing teeth .

Yes, now you’re a real hockey player, laughs Pudas.

“Say you need to take care of it now”

It was after a shot from Modo’s Johan Södergran that the puck was sent up onto the star back.

– Accidents. These things happen.

How much did it hurt ?

– You’re so into the game, it was calm. What’s tough is that you need to take care of it now.

As an elite athlete, you need to get a lot of carbohydrates. What happens when you can only eat easily chewed food ?

– It should be fine. You can top up with a protein shake. It will be good for the summer.

Will there be a full-coverage visor now ?

– Oh, I haven’t even thought about that.

Skellefteå meets Linköping tomorrow at home.

Nasty pictures of Pudas in the Skellefteå victory

A puck in the face from close range.

Jonathan Pudas was bleeding profusely after a hit in overtime.

But Skellefteå still managed to take the victory against Modo.

It was close, exciting and even when Skellefteå visited Örnsköldsvik on Tuesday evening. But it was the slaps towards Skellefteå players that became the topic of conversation for the evening.

The first, a tackle. Sam Vigneault tackled Arvid Lundberg against the sidelines and the referees’ first decision was a five-minute suspension.

Sam Vigneault did not receive a match penalty.

The assessment on the ice is that it is a tackle to the head. But from that angle it was difficult to see how he executes the tackle. Initially we have a five-minute period for a tackle to the head that we will video review, explains referee Tobias Björk in TV4 Play.

And after the video review, the fifth was removed. Björk explains:

– Then we see that when the tackle happens, Sam holds everything down, doesn’t exert any force upwards and is quite low. Then Arvid moves a little before “impact” and then we judge that it is not a penalty.
