Update on Jason Crowe recruitment

A positive update for the Cats.

The Kentucky Wildcats are starting to wrap up the 2025 recruiting class and turning their attention to the class of 2026.

With several top-10 players already with offers from the new UK staff, one has a deep connection with assistant coach Jason Hart. That is 5-star shooting guard Jason Crowe.

The talented guard out of Inglewood High School in California recently spoke with Joe Tipton of On3, saying he is hearing quite a bit from the Cats.

Joining them on that list are Arkansas, Michigan, UCLA, USC, Miami, and Washington.

At 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds, Crowe is considered one of the best players in the country, as he is ranked as a top-15 player in the class by all recruiting services. He’s ranked No. 13 at On3, No. 7 at 247 Sports, No. 6 at ESPN, and No. 9 at Rivals. ESPN, Rivals, and 247 Sports classify him as a point guard, while On3 has him tabbed as a shooting guard.

The best thing for the BBN? It appears they’re right in the thick of this recruitment at the moment.

This recruiting class is really going to be the first time in the Pope era that we see the staff have a full period to evaluate and target their top players in the class. There is still a long way to go, but you have to like where things stand in 2026 at the moment.

A beautiful sight.

Time and time again, we’ve seen examples of head coach Mark Pope understanding the assignment for Kentucky basketball.

Whether it’s beating Duke, winning big road games, or embracing the fanbase, Pope clearly gets what it means to be the head coach of the Wildcats.

And boy, was that clear Saturday night when Kentucky scored a thrilling 95-90 win at No. 14 Mississippi State. Not only did Pope guide his Cats to another signature win, but he also got to celebrate the victory with a fan.

As captured by Adam Townsend on Twitter, Pope was seen meeting a fan in the stands who was in a wheelchair, along with his family, following the game.

It’s a very touching moment for Pope to make his way into the stands after an emotional victory to make sure that fan felt the love and got to live up what was a very fun win for Kentucky.
