Hull City man still on brink of exit despite recent loan departure
Hull City goalkeeper Anthony Racioppi is still on the ‘cusp’ of leaving despite Carl Rushworth’s exit, as detailed in a report by HullLive.
Hull City are set to cut ties with the stopper this winter. HCAFC have until the end of the January transfer window to complete any incoming or outgoing bits of business.
Racioppi, 26, joined the Tigers last summer from Young Boys but has struggled for game time. He has made only one appearance so far this season in the Carabao Cup against Sheffield Wednesday.
In this latest update regarding his situation, Ruben Selles has said, as per a report by HullLive: “For Anthony (Racioppi), the best thing to do is just to find a club where he can go and play. That has always been the priority, and it doesn’t change that much now. I think he still needs to explore those situations because the main thing for him is playing.
“We have Tim (Lo Tutala), who has been working with us really hard and is a goalkeeper who is growing with the team, and he will push, together with Harvey (Cartwright) and Archie (Howard) and the team that is supporting us in the games, so I think we are covered in the goalkeeper position to support the goal.”
Hull City update regarding Anthony Racioppi
Hull City landed Racioppi to bolster their goalkeeping department on a three-year deal but he hasn’t been able to get into the team ahead of Ivor Pandur.
After joining the Tigers, he told their website: “This is a great stadium and I hope to play very fast because I am excited to stay here.”
Racioppi joined Young Boys in 2022 and went on to make 53 appearances in all competitions for the Swiss outfit.
He started his career at CS Chênois before moving to France as a youngster when Lyon came calling.
The former Switzerland youth international rose up through the academy of the Ligue 1 giants and represented them at various different youth levels.
He never played for the first-team but was a regular for their B team before switching to Dijon.
Young Boys brought him in a couple of years ago and he helped them win the Swiss Super League and Cup double in 2023.
He made five outings for them last term in the Champions League, one of which was against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
What now for Anthony Racioppi at Hull City?
Racioppi is still expected to part ways with Hull City following Rushworth’s return to Brighton and Hove Albion.
