Eagles vs. Commanders Announce Major Injury Updates
Even as the Philadelphia Eagles have grown into a dynamic franchise capable of bullying some of the great teams in the league, the Washington Commanders have had their numbers. The way the Commanders have historically built their teams has left them to be described as matchup nightmares for the Eagles. And with both teams facing off in the conference championship game, the Commanders’ defensive line as a group remains something the Eagles are consistently worried about.
“They’re really good,” All-Pro Lane Johnson said. “They play really hard together, they run games effectively. Collectively, they’re a tough, savvy defense.
They don’t make many mistakes and they play well together. They did a good job of reading what we were doing in the second game (a 36-33 Washington win on December 22), so we have to make adjustments.”

And it has the rest of the roster understanding how important each role will be. “Excited for the opportunity that’s ahead of us,” Dallas Goedert said.
“They’re a good group with the way the edges play. They’ve got good guys in the interior. Both of their linebackers fly around. It’s going to be a good challenge for us, but like I always say, if we’re good up front, we’re going to be tough to beat.
Just excited to go out there with the O-line and see if we can move people around.” Starting center Cam Jurgens (back) and tight end Goedert (ankle) have been on the injury list for Philly. Goedert will definitely play on Sunday, while Jurgens is listed as questionable. QB Jalen Hurts (ankle) is now off the injury list.
Will Philadelphia’s offensive line rise to the occasion against a group that has given them fits for years? Time will only tell.
