TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Liverpool and Chelsea will be unable to complete a deal for attacking midfielder Emmerson Sutton, who is now set to stay at Queens Park Rangers.
The 17-year-old, who has come through QPR’s academy has been compared to Eberechi Eze, who also made a name for himself at Loftus Road before eventually heading to Crystal Palace.
Liverpool signed Rio Ngumoha this summer from Chelsea, which highlights their interest in bolstering their youth ranks.
While Chelsea have prioritised the signing of young talent under the Blue Co ownership and they look like they will continue to do so in the future.

Sources have told Graeme Bailey — TBR Football’s chief correspondent that apart from Liverpool and Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion have all been interested in signing Sutton.
The teenager has been making headlines, recently scoring a hat-trick against Arsenal in the FA Youth Cup in a 3-3 draw where QPR ended up losing 4-2 on penalties.
TBR Football understands that despite the interest from Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, Newcastle and Brighton in securing Sutton’s services, he is close to penning his first professional contract with the London-based club.
Furthermore, the Englishman is also close to getting a look-in as a first-team player in Marti Cifuentes’ squad.
Emmerson Sutton career stats
The youngster’s senior career is yet to start.
But at youth level, Sutton has scored four goals in four appearances in the FA Youth Cup.
The highly-touted prospect can both play as a number 10 and as a winger.
If Sutton impresses at first-team level, it will be interesting to see if any of the aforementioned Premier League clubs re-ignite their interest in his signature.
