Leeds United have been suggested to see winger Jack Harrison return to the club from his loan spell at Everton this month, as the wait stretches on for transfer updates at Elland Road.
Leeds are top of the league and on an 11-game unbeaten streak in the Championship, which does suggest that there’s little drastic work that needs to be done for Daniel Farke to get the job done.
However, Leeds’ toothlessness and lack of craft in the final third against Burnley on Monday does serve as a reminder that a new striker or attacking midfielder would be an ideal boost before Monday’s deadline.
Daily Mail journalist Ian Herbert has now suggested that the most likely solution to Leeds’ current search for an attacker might be Jack Harrison.
Currently on loan at Everton from Elland Road, having exercised his loan clause for the second season running, the winger is finding it very tough to muster up any decent form at Goodison Park, as Herbert suggests terminating his loan could be the next course of action:
“If they had to put it all on one, it would be a striker, but PSR means they could end up with none.
“Aston Villa’s Emi Buendia didn’t want to go to Leeds, preferring Bayer Leverkusen on loan. Brighton’s Julio Enciso preferred a loan move to Ipswich.
“Jack Harrison, shot on confidence after a torrid period on loan at Everton, may be the one heading to Elland Road.”
