Everton could be making a potential mistake by signing Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that given how little he’s played over the past few seasons and no senior minutes this time around, it is a concern for any club looking to sign him.
Tutto Juve reported on 20 January that the Toffees have even made contact with the 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder’s entourage over a potential transfer.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Melo: “Considering how little he has played over the past few seasons and nothing this season, this certainly a concern and potential mistake.
“If there are issues with his medical, would stem from outlier results during his testing rather than his game minutes but it is still possible.“
Everton must avoid signing Arthur Melo
Melo’s move to Liverpool was a disastrous one and while he has managed to prove his fitness last season by playing 33 league games on loan for Fiorentina, this is still a risky move.
He’s also not suited in terms of physicality for the Premier League and he’s not likely a player Moyes would want.
Given Orel Mangala’s injury, it makes sense to sign a like-for-like replacement and Arthur just isn’t that.
