After a small “mini crisis”, Skellefteå has started to get back on track.
We can see this after the Västerbotten team now has two straight victories after the three-pointer against Luleå.
– It feels like we’ve been through quite a lot. Then confidence is a big thing. When you play well and win matches, it grows and everything feels easier. That’s where we are now, trying to chase confidence and find a game that suits you, says Lindberg.
“Starting to look like the real Skellefteå”
In Skellefteå Kraft Arena, it was the home team that won the whole game.
After just five minutes, Jonathan Pudas scored 1-0, giving a hint of what was to come. The goal scorer himself was, to say the least, pleased with his team’s performance after the first period.
– It’s starting to look like the real Skellefteå AIK , says Pudas.
Skellefteå was outnumbered by rivals Norrbotten for most of the match, but Matteus Ward in Luleå’s goal struggled well.
“We are coming in wrong”
But with six minutes left in the middle period, Pontus Johansson made it 2–0 and a few minutes into the third, Anton Heikkinen scored a rebound for 3–0.
Skellefteå ultimately won 4–0 and won the shot statistics with a crushing 36–15.
– We come into the game wrong. They are hotter and more desperate. They get to control and set and we never find the energy we need, says Linus Omark.
