David Moyes gets his wish as Everton receive green light to sign £40m star this month

David Moyes target has just given Everton the green light to sign him before the deadline

Everton are leaving it late in the winter transfer market to get their business over the line.

David Moyes will be pleased to see there is finally some transfer business looking set to be completed ahead of Monday’s deadline.

Everton are close to signing Carlos Alcaraz on loan for the season from Flamengo, where they hold the option to buy the midfielder.

But there is still a lot of work needing to be done if Moyes is to come out of this window satisfied with the work done.

A number of players have been lost through injury with Everton’s frontline decimated.

However, it does appear as if the Toffees may be closing in on a defender as their next potential signing of the window.

Adrien Truffert approves of late move to Everton

After being appointed Sean Dyche’s replacement, David Moyes identified full-back as a position to add to before the transfer deadline.

Expiring contracts at right-back and a real lack of depth on the other side has left Everton with some issues to address.

According to Alan Nixon, Everton are showing an interest in the Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert ahead of Monday’s deadline.

The 23-year-old is believed to be valued by his club in the region of £20m.

But the real bonus for Everton is Truffert would be keen to make the move to the Premier League ahead of the window shutting on Monday.

Vitaliy Mykolenko is in new contract talks with Everton as they look to tie the Ukraine international down to a longer future on Merseyside.

However, he could really do with some competition for the spot at left-back who is also able to provide him with some relief from starting every game.

Everton’s striker worries have been eased by Beto

The victory over Leicester City on the weekend saw Beto really impress Everton fans as he netted a brace.

It has to be remembered he is the only fit, senior striker at the club, though.

An injury to the Portuguese striker would come as an enormous blow for Moyes, which is why Everton want to sign another striker.

With a midfielder seemingly set to sign and Truffert now encouraging a move to England, could Everton seal a busy end to the window by adding another striker?
