With midfielders on the radar, Everton and Tottenham have eyed Angel Gomes ahead of the transfer deadline.
The England international is now in the final months of his deal at Lille.
However, according to The Telegraph, Gomes now looks set to remain in France and see out the remainder of his contract
He is expected to move on in the summer when he becomes a free agent, instead of signing a new deal.
The midfielder is said to be keen to take his time in considering his next move despite the late interest coming his way.
After taking over in December, the Friedkins were keen to sign a new midfielder and they have already accomplished that.

Everton could land Angel Gomes on a free in the summer
PSR remains a major issue for Everton with the Friedkins hindered in their attempts to spend during this transfer window.
Whether the summer window will provide some relief for Everton in terms of PSR remains to be seen.
But landing Gomes on a free in the summer would be a hugely positive bit of business for the Toffees both on and off the pitch.
One thing which is certain is that Gomes will receive a lot of interest ahead of becoming a free agent in the coming months.
