Drafting the best Ohio State football players on offense of the Ryan Day era: Buckeye Talk podcast
COLUMBUS, Ohio — It’s been a while since Buckeye Talk dedicated a few shows to getting their competitive juices flowing.
Over the next few episodes, that’s exactly what they plan to do: by drafting teams and asking the Subtext subscribers who did it best.
That starts with this Tuesday pod where Stephen Means, Stefan Krajisnik and Andrew Gillis drafted an 11-player offense made up of Ohio State players strictly from the Ryan Day era. Only players who’ve gone through a season as Buckeyes can be drafted, so members of the 2025 recruiting class or recent transfer additions don’t qualify.
What positions will be valued early? Who can get creative with where they put players in the starting lineup? Who will end up with Garrett Wilson?
Listen to this 11-round draft to find out which three players between 2019 and 2025, made the cut.
Welcome back to Buckeye Talk. I’m Stephen Mays, that’s Tiffan Kreisnick, and that’s Andrew Gillis. So we’ve been doing a lot of breakdown stuff and a lot of let’s come to an agreement pods lately. No agreements today. It’s time to get competitive. I don’t like Andrew and Stefan. I don’t like you either. And you two don’t like me. It’s time to be competitive. It’s time to get back to the root and to the heart of what Buckeye Talk is all about. And that’s drafting teams and then asking our textures who did the best job, 614-350.
Three, three, one, five. The next two days are going to be drafting our starting 22s of the Ryan Day era. Today we’re doing offense. Tomorrow we’re going to do defense. We have our order already. We did it off camera, off the way from the mics. Andrew is going to go first. I’m going to go second. Stefan is going to go third and it’s a snake draft. So essentially every other round, Andrew and Stefan are going to get back to back picks while I’ll just be picking up every other pick the entire time. This is about wit.
This is about creativity. This is about knowing where you came from and knowing where you’re going. And most importantly, it’s about making sure Steven wins because that is all that matters in life is making sure that Steven wins. Stefan, are you ready to make sure that Steven wins?
Stefan Krajisnik (01:21.282)
Not not I wouldn’t go that far. I’m ready to draft. I’m ready to do my part to to win my my debut on the book I talk player draft
Andrew, it’s been a while since you’ve made sure that Steven won. Are you ready to make sure that Steven wins?
Andrew (01:39.244)
You know, a lot of people were talking about how the NFL was going to make sure the Chiefs won. Stephen kind of has that same confidence. Just throwing it out there. Just throwing it out there. What was the score? What was the score that game? Just curious. We’ll see. Yeah.
