New Steelers WR Mike Williams Spills Truth on Game-Winning TD

Pittsburgh Steelers could lose wide receiver to Baltimore Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers could end up losing Mike Williams. In fact, that is probably likely. One scenario would be that Williams heads back to his old team, the Los Angeles Chargers. However, could the Steelers lose Williams to one of their rivals?

Pro Football Focus believes the Baltimore Ravens’ dream signing this offseason should be poaching Williams away from the Steelers. That would give the Ravens wide receiver room some much-needed size and contested catch ability they lack.

“Without much cap space to maneuver, the Ravens will have a limited pool of free-agent options,” PFF wrote. “One potential target to fill in nicely as a big-bodied X-receiver could be Mike Williams. While he struggled in 2024, another offseason to regain his form post-ACL surgery in 2023 could pay dividends. In six seasons with the Chargers prior to his injury, he posted a 72.0-plus PFF receiving grade each year, presenting a solid value, if he can get back on track.

After suffering a torn ACL with the Chargers in 2023, Williams never fully looked like the same player he was before the injury. At the very least, though, Williams was able to make stunning plays on the sideline on jump balls thrown his way.

It's time for Mike Williams

That is his superpower, and if any team wants to acquire him for those skills, he can fill that void. The Steelers acquired him just for that, but they will likely let him walk and go for another veteran on the market, which could leave his market is a perfect spot for a team like the Ravens.

Former Saints Receiver Keith Kirkwood Re-Signed By Baltimore Ravens

Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Keith Kirkwood was officially re-signed by the Baltimore Ravens this past Wednesday. A collegiate wideout at Hawaii (2013) and Temple (2014-2017), Kirkwood caught 103 passes for 1,638 yards and 16 touchdowns over four years. After going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft, he was originally signed by the Philadelphia Eagles but was released just a few days later. The New Orleans Saints then signed Kirkwood in early May of 2018. He’d compete through training camp and preseason, but was among the team’s final cuts before the regular season. Added back to the Saints practice squad, Kirkwood saw action in eight games for New Orleans as a rookie. He’d catch 13 passes for 209 yards with two scores during the 2018 campaign, adding two catches for eight yards and a score in the playoffs.

A hamstring injury limited Kirkwood to only one game and no catches in 2019. He was signed by the Carolina Panthers after that year as a free agent. In two years with the Panthers, Kirkwood caught four passes for 30 yards in four games of action.

Steelers Bringing Mike Williams Along Slowly

After being released by the Panthers during the 2022 preseason, Kirkwood was re-signed by New Orleans. He spent a large portion of the year on the practice squad but did see five games of action, catching two balls for 18 yards. In 2023 with the Saints, Kirkwood had the most action of his career. He appeared in 13 games, starting four, and had five receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown. After that season, he was signed in free agency by the Baltimore Ravens. Kirkwood was released by the Ravens during training camp last year. He was re-signed by the team, but spent the entire season on Baltimore’s practice squad. Keith Kirkwood, 30, has 24 receptions for 294 yards and three touchdowns over a six-year NFL career. In his four combined seasons with New Orleans, he had 20 catches for 264 yards and three scores.
