What Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga just did on England U16 duty as sensational footage emerges

Negativity continues to surround Leicester City, both on and off the pitch, but the level of talent coming through the academy is a saving grace.

Jeremy Monga is inarguably the most exciting youngster to emerge from Seagrave in recent years, with the teenager showcasing incredible potential.

Still only 15 years old, the fleet-footed winger has been involved in first-team training after impressing for the under-21s, and Van Nistelrooy selected Monga on the bench against Man Utd.

The Englishman has a huge future ahead of him, and Leicester will hope that he isn’t prized away from them before he signs his first professional contract in 2026.

Chelsea are interested in Monga alongside several European giants, including Barcelona, PSG and Manchester City.

But, whilst supporters will be worried about another youngster departing, they’ll be in awe of what he’s just done for England’s U16s.

A trademark of the winger is producing the spectacular. Monga scored a sensational goal against Coventry City only last month, and he’s also impressing on the international stage.

He was selected for England U16’s latest outing against Colombia as the young Three Lions secured a 4-0 victory.

Chelsea’s Ryan Kavuma-McQueen scored a brace while Wolves gem Jashayde Greenwood was on the scoresheet alongside Monga, who netted a beautiful free kick into the top left corner.

It was an unstoppable strike from the teenager, whose abilities for his country will have no doubt impressed his manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Ruud van Nistelrooy must use Monga in Leicester first-team

Since Monga can’t sign a professional contract till he turns 17 in July 2026, Leicester face an anxious wait to hold onto him.

The youngster is being courted by top European clubs, and his continuous outrageous displays will only skyrocket his profile even further.

Van Nistelrooy wants to keep Monga for the long-term, outlining his plan for the young winger, and that should involve minutes in the first-team before the season closes.

At the age of 15 years and 181 days, Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri is the youngest Premier League debutant of all time.

Monga could become the Foxes’ youngest top-flight debut by appearing before the season closes, and with some senior players looking disinterested, it could be time to unleash a youngster who would give everything for the badge.
