Oregon Ducks' Dan Lanning 'Favorite Head Coach' for 5-Star Recruit Jackson Cantwell

Georgia Gets Good News on Projected $1.2 Million Star

The crystal ball at On3 predicted the greatest chance of 5-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell landing with the Missouri Tigers or Nebraska Cornhuskers. But the Georgia Bulldogs are going to be involved too. On Tuesday, On3’s Jeremy Johnson wrote Cantwell will visit Athens, Ga. on June 6. “He’s locked in his official visit to Georgia for June 6 according to On3’s Chad Simmons,” wrote Johnson. “Cantwell has been a focus in the 2026 class for some time now. The Bulldogs have gotten Cantwell on campus a ton early in his recruitment up to this point.” Cantwell will also visit Missouri, the Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines and Oregon Ducks in May or June. Cantwell will visit Ohio State as well on a yet to be determined date.

The 247Sports composite rankings have Cantwell ranked as the top offensive tackle and No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. He’s also the top-rated tackle and prospect according to the On3 rankings.

On3 also projected Cantwell to have a $1.2 million NIL value. Georgia has five hard commits for the 2026 recruiting class, three of which are 4-star prospects. The Bulldogs do not have a 5-star recruit currently committed. While Georgia could still land 5-star quarterback Jared Curtis, he is no longer committed to the Bulldogs. Standing at 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds, Cantwell will play his senior season of high school at Nixa High School in Nixa, Mo.

2 Georgia Bulldogs starters undergo significant surgeries

One of the biggest stories throughout Georgia football’s 2024 season was all of the injuries they suffered. A majority of the injuries came on the offensive side of the ball specifically on the offensive line and in the running back room, but these injuries had a significant impact on the Bulldogs’ season.

These injuries unfortunately are continuing throughout the offseason as Graham Coffey with Dawgs Central confirmed two big name players on Georgia’s defense who both just had surgeries.

Breaking News: UGA CB Daylen Everette and DL Christen Miller Undergo Offseason Surgeries

DawgsCentral has learned Everette underwent surgery for a sports hernia shortly after Georgia’s season ended

Miller had surgery to repair a damaged shoulder labrum

CB Daylen Everette

The first Bulldog who recently underwent surgery is corner Daylen Everette. According to Coffey, Everette had surgery for a sports hernia right after Georgia’s season came to an end.

As of now it is unclear what capacity Everette will be able to participate during spring practice. There is a chance he will be able to participate in a limited capacity, but he might miss spring practice altogether as well. However, he is expected to be 100 percent healthy long before the 2025 season starts so there is no fear of him missing time during the regular season.

DL Christen Miller

Defensive lineman Chirsten Miller is the second player who was announced on Friday to have undergone a recent surgery. Miller had a damaged labrum in his shoulder that has since been repaired with surgery.

It is more than likely that Miller will miss all of spring practice later this offseason, but similarly to Everette he is expected to make a full recovery before the season as well. The fact that both players will be back long before the season begins is huge because both players will be key contributors if not starters on the Bulldogs’ defense this season. So missing either player would have been a huge blow, but if they only miss time during the spring then that is probably the best case scenario.
