MANDELA Egbo knows exactly what it takes to embark on a League Two play-off push.A WOMAN says she was left “dripping with blood” and unconscious after she claims glasses were thrown at her at nightclub in Colchester last night.
Essex Police received a report that a woman in her 40s was assaulted in Silk Road, a nightclub, bar, and cocktail lounge, on St Botolph’s Street at around 2.35am on Saturday March 1.
Police say the victim lost consciousness and sustained an injury to her face.
A 28-year-old from Colchester is being questioned on suspicion of GBH with intent.
She said: “I hope my right eye’s vision comes back and another bit of glass just fell out of my face right now.
A spokesman for Silk Road said security staff responded quickly to the incident.
The spokesman said: “We wish the victim a speedy recovery.”
The victim was discharged from hospital later on Saturday and said she became unconscious twice during the assault.
She also praised Open Road’s SOS bus including their paramedics for being “amazing” as well as the police who she said were “around the corner”.
The victim added: “My whole head was red from dripping blood, and I couldn’t see anything but blood.
“It was like something out of a horror film. I don’t want to go out on the high street at all because of this.”
Detective Chief Inspector Rob Huddleston said: “I understand this incident may cause concern in our communities, but we’ve responded quickly to make an arrest, and I don’t believe there’s a wider risk to the public.
“Colchester offers a vibrant night-time economy enjoyed by thousands each weekend and remains a safe place to visit.
