San Francisco 49ers Could Reunite Nick Bosa, Joey Bosa: Report
The San Francisco 49ers may have an intriguing option that has become available. Following the decision from the Los Angeles Chargers to release Joey Bosa, the 49ers could sign him to reunite him with his brother, Nick Bosa. Having both Bosa brothers on the roster would give San Francisco an elite pass rushing duo and could take the defense to the next level. Not only would the addition of the older Bosa improve the 49ers’ defense, it would bring a lot of entertainment to the field as well. While it’s a fun idea, there is legitimate reporting that suggests this could be possible. NFL insider Ian Rapoport has reported that the Bosa brothers joining forces in San Francisco is an option. “The Chargers star will have options – joining his brother Nick in SF is one of them,” Rapoport posted on X. “His release saved the Chargers $25M against the cap.”
Bosa ended up playing in 14 games with the Chargers during the 2024 season. He totaled 22 tackles, five sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Seeing him play in 14 games was a major plus. Bosa had played in just nine and five games in the 2023 and 2022 seasons respectively. After missing the playoffs during the 2024 season, the 49ers are going to look to be aggressive. If the price tag makes sense, signing Bosa would be an interesting option. At 29 years old, Bosa could still have a few good years of elite football left in him. Being able to play with his brother would be a tough opportunity to pass up. Expect to hear more news about Bosa and where he might land in the near future. He is now officially free to sign with any team.
