Linköping’s blow against Skellefteå – is close to the qualifying round

The threat of flooding is serious for Linköping.

They didn’t take their chance against Skellefteå (2–5) and are only one point away from the qualifying round.

– This is not how it should look, says coach Ante Karlsson on TV4.

Jonathan Davidsson doubled his goal tally for the season with his opening goal for Skellefteå. All before Linköping equalized before the break.

Then Skellefteå did not let go of the lead after scoring three goals in the middle and had a 2-4 lead after 40 minutes. By then, among others, Jonathan Davidsson had found the net again.

– I don’t think it’s okay, summed up LHC’s Patrick Russell.

After a Linus Hultström miss, Davidsson then came free to score a third, which resulted in Max Lindholm scoring the rebound to nail the final score.

“We’re giving it away – damn bad match”

Linköping coach Ante Karlsson was noticeably irritated.

– The whole match… we give it away. We create chances but they are cheap goals, sloppy. A damn bad match, he says on TV4 and continues:

– We go offside, we don’t win close games. We make it easy for Skellefteå.

Almost resignedly, he chose not to comment on the upcoming round.

– We have to summarize this damn match first, Malmö is on Tuesday. It can’t look like this.

There are four rounds remaining in the SHL regular season.
