Could Oregon’s Tez Johnson reunite with brother Bo Nix? Receiver has formal meeting with Denver Broncos at NFL combine

INDIANAPOLIS — Tez Johnson and Bo Nix could once again reunite on the football field in the NFL.

The Oregon receiver had a formal meeting with the Denver Broncos during this week’s NFL combine. Those meetings can prove to be indicators interest by teams, which are limited to 45 formal meetings during the combine.

Broncos Meet With Brother of Bo Nix at NFL Scouting Combine

At the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, the Denver Broncos are meeting with many different players to gauge who they should select in the 2025 NFL Draft. With needs at each skill position on offense, the Broncos have meetings with players who can help quarterback Box Nix continue to develop. The 2025 NFL Draft class has a strong tight end and running back group, but the wide receivers are also very impressive. With head coach Sean Payton looking for a “joker” for their offense, the Broncos are in the market for a difference-maker offensively. While not a very high projected selection, there is one wide receiver that would make a ton of sense for the Broncos.

It’s rare for brothers to play in professional sports at the same time, and very rarely do they play on the same team. The Broncos have a chance to add the brother of Box Nix, Oregon wide receiver Tez Johnson. He had a meeting with the Broncos and had high praise for Nix. #Oregon star Tez Johnson on Bo Nix, whose family brought him in during high school. He definitely wasn’t surprised by his success. And yes Tez has formally met with #Broncos.

“Bo does what he does… he’s the best quarterback in the draft, that’s why they picked him in the first round.”

His belief in Nix was warranted, as Nix played himself into the Offensive Rookie of the Year talks. Nix’s team met with his adopted brother at the NFL Scouting Combine, and the chemistry between Johnson and the Broncos was strong.

“It just felt normal to me, it just felt like I was already there for some reason… It was definitely a good meeting, definitely enjoyed it, killed it, 100%.”

Johnson became the adopted brother of Nix in 2017 at 15 years old and eventually followed his older brother to Oregon, where he thrived. Over his last two seasons at Oregon, Johnson averaged 1040 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 84 receptions. When asked about the potential of playing with Nix, Johnson said it would be incredible and that “There’s more to our story.” It’s already an incredible story for Johnson and Nix, and if the

Broncos take the Oregon wide receiver, it could become even more incredible. Their quarterback-to-wide receiver connection would be the first time in NFL history that one brother threw to another. Between the brotherly connection of Nix and Johnson, along with the Broncos’ need at wide receiver, the fit makes a ton of sense for everyone involved. The brothers have a chance to reunite in the NFL, which would be another page to the great story being written of the two Oregon stars.
