Ohio State Buckeyes Will Be Seeing Jason Witten’s Son Cooper Witten On March 21
Former NFL tight end star Jason Witten has his son on the recruiting trail for the class of 2027. He will be visiting the Ohio State Buckeyes on March 21. Matthew Schmidt of sportsillustrated.com said,
“The Ohio State Buckeyes could be bringing the son of an NFL legend into their ranks.
Mike Singer of On 3 has revealed that Ohio State has lined up a visit with linebacker Cooper Witten, the son of former NFL tight end Jason Witten.
Witten is the No. 1-ranked linebacker for the class of 2027 and hails from Liberty Christian in Argyle, Tx. He actually began his career as a safety, but possessed enough versatility to move to linebacker.
Cooper’s father needs no introduction, as Jason played 17 years on the NFL level between 2003 and 2020, briefly retiring for one season in 2018. Sixteen of his seasons came with the Dallas Cowboys, but he finished his career with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020.”
He will be visiting the Michigan Wolverines the day before he comes to visit the Ohio State Buckeyes. Cooper Witten will also visit with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Clemson Tigers, and the Oklahoma Sooners also.
Ohio State QB Will Howard still can’t believe he lost to Michigan
For Will Howard, winning a national championship with Ohio State was a dream come true. But there’s still one thing he just can’t get over—losing to Michigan.
Even with the Buckeyes capping off the season by winning games against Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame on their way to a national title,, that rivalry game still stings. Howard recently opened up about it on The Ryen Russillo Podcast, making it clear that the loss hasn’t left his mind.
“It wasn’t fun, man. You come to Ohio State to beat those guys. For me, it hurt. You get one chance at The Game,” Howard said. “Obviously, I got knocked up in the half, and I probably wasn’t 100%. But, shoot, only God himself would’ve taken me out of that game. You only get one chance to play That Team Up North. And it was just a bad day. And you can’t have that.”
Ohio State fans don’t take losses to Michigan lightly, and Howard said he knew exactly what he was walking into when he transferred to Columbus.
“I knew what I was stepping into… Ohio State fans can turn nasty if they don’t like you,” he said. “I grew up an Eagles fan, it’s the same deal… they want to see their Buckeyes win.”
