“It’s never a penalty,” he told Sky Sports. “What started to happen in the second half is they attach themselves to you. He’s grabbed our player’s arm and then he’s rolled him. As he’s rolled around with him, he’s taking him down with him.
“It’s never been a penalty, never a penalty in a million years. The game was a poor game. I thought there was not much quality in it. It looked typical after a Wednesday game.
“In the second half we got sucked into playing the way they play. We stopped playing, that’s a disappointment.
“Also when you’ve got a chance to clear the ball away we didn’t do it with any quality, it kept coming back, kept coming back obviously then the weight of the game becomes an issue.
“At the end of it we’ve given a really poor throw-in away. Really poor decisions that lead up to that, but then we’ve got to head the ball away and and deal with it.
