San Diego Padres announce preliminary Opening Day roster for Fort Wayne TinCaps
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – As the Fort Wayne TinCaps’ 2025 season approaches, the team’s Major League Baseball affiliate, the San Diego Padres, is announcing the preliminary roster for Opening Day.
The Fort Wayne TinCaps have been training for their 2025 season in Peoria, Arizona, for the past few weeks.
The San Diego Padres say 30 players will now make their way to the Summit City Saturday.
Of the 30 players heading to Fort Wayne, the team says 14 have previously appeared at Parkview Field.
Many others join from the San Diego Padres Single-A affiliate, the Lake Elsinore Lake Elsinore, alongside new manager Lukas Ray.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone here soon and get this thing rolling,” said Fort Wayne TinCaps President Mike Nutter. “Once again, the Padres are sending us some of the best prospects in the entire sport, and we know they’re excited to get involved in the community here as well.
The Fort Wayne TinCaps will host an all-access night at 5 p.m. on April 2, ahead of the 2025 season.
Opening day will be Friday, April 4. The team’s first home game will be against the Lansing Lugnuts and is set to begin at 7:05 p.m
