Dallas Mavericks fans clearly still loathe Nico Harrison for trading away Luka Doncic … one actually yelled right in the GM’s face on Monday, “Fire Nico!” — repeatedly!

The scene unfolded just before the Mavs’ tilt with the Brooklyn Nets at American Airlines Center in Dallas … as Harrison — who jettisoned Doncic to the Lakers back on Feb. 1 — was saying hi to some people who had shown up for the game a bit early.

The 52-year-old shook one person’s hand, and then as he turned to go back to Dallas’ locker room area — a Mavs backer yelled that he should be canned.

The fan screamed it three separate times — getting louder with each yell.

To Harrison’s credit, he didn’t react, and walked into the bowels of the stadium without further issue.

But, according to one Reddit user who claimed to have seen the whole incident, stadium security confronted the fan a short time later. It’s not clear if the guy — who was wearing a No. 77 Doncic Mavericks jersey — was removed from the venue over the altercation, though the officials didn’t seem pleased with him, to say the least.

Harrison’s Mavs, meanwhile, continued to struggle without Doncic — they lost to Brooklyn, 113-109. They’re now 37-39 in the year.

As for the Lakers, they’re thriving with Doncic — they’re 46-29 and in fourth place in the West … success that Mavericks fans are clearly well aware of.

Dallas Mavericks fans are not letting up on their desire to see Nico Harrison get fired.

On Monday, the Mavs hosted the Brooklyn Nets in an interconference clash at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Things got testy well before the opening tip.

Harrison was seen exchanging pleasantries over an hour before the game. One fan used it as an opportunity to harass the Mavericks exec. After Nico shook hands with a man in the stands, the fan started chanting louder and louder as Harrison walked back into the tunnel.

“Fire Nico! Fire Nico! Fire Nico!” the fan yelled, each time louder than the last.

The fan outrage has only slightly quieted down since Harrison agreed to trade Luka Doncic. It’s gotten to the point that the two-word chant is being echoed at events that have nothing to do with basketball. But the constant clamoring for Harrison’s firing has irked some of the Mavericks’ current players.

The Mavericks entered Monday’s game on a pretty good run. Dallas had won five of its last six games, which also coincided with Anthony Davis’ return from the injured list. But the Nets got the better of the Mavs in their matchup, pulling off a 113-109 upset over the home team.

Luka Doncic’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers has sent shockwaves throughout the NBA. Not only did the Dallas Mavericks trade away their generational superstar to a conference rival, but the consensus from much of the public is that the Mavs didn’t get enough back in the trade.
