WNBA Star Issues 6-Word Response to Angel Reese After Major Personal Announcement
When Angel Reese was selected by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA Draft, she fulfilled her dreams of becoming a professional basketball player. It was not long after, however, that she transcended into an icon in everyday life. While she did set the standard for relentless play on the court and was rewarded with a handful of individual awards during her rookie season, it feels at times like she makes an even broader impact through building her brand. She signed an exclusive deal with Reebok last fall, and fellow WNBA star DiJonai Carrington, also a close friend, just signed with them as well, spurring Reese to respond to the news. “Welcome to the family sis!” wrote Reese in a post on X.
Carrington had an incredible season last year for the Connecticut Sun, earning the league’s Most Improved Player Award and being named First-Team All-Defense. She and Reese have both excelled at diversifying their portfolios and leveraging their success on the hardwood into other opportunities.
When Reese reached out to congratulate her on the new deal, it prompted a response from Carrington. She even threw in a clever nickname for the two and their shared sponsorship with Reebok. “the baddie brand,” she wrote. “thank youu boo”
Reese and the Sky will take on Carrington and the Wings three times this season, the first of which will take place in Chicago on May 29. Do not let these friendly social media posts fool you, however, as these two women will be going at it when the ball is tipped at Wintrust Arena next month.
Angel Reese’s Behavior During NCAA Tournament Game is Turning Heads
While Maryland had incredible momentum entering the game, having defeated No. 13 Grand Canyon and No. 12 Colorado State, the Terrapins were halted by the Gators.
It was a tight, two-point game at the half, but Florida pulled away for an 87-71 win against Maryland, ending the Terrapins’ March Madness run.
During the blowout, cameras panned to Angel Reese, who was in the crowd supporting her brother.
