‘Not convinced’ – Aston Villa written off in Premier League top-four battle for two reasons
Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive as presenter Rebecca Lowe discusses what Unai Emery’s side can achieve this season
NBC presenter Rebecca Lowe believes Aston Villa will win silverware after a promising start to the season.
Villa climbed to fifth in the Premier League after thrashing Brighton 6-1 at Villa Park on Saturday. It is now five wins in seven as Unai Emery’s team target another strong season.
With their attention turning to the Europa Conference League next week, Villa will be looking to make up for their defeat at Legia Warsaw. And Lowe has backed Emery’s side to go on and win the competition.

“The ceiling is very high,” Lowe told NBC Sports Soccer. “I think the ceiling includes some silverware.
“I think he’ll go and win the Europa Conference League, it’s just what Unai Emery does. I think in terms of the league, ceiling is probably fifth.
“I’m not sure they have, I was about to say they didn’t have quite enough goals but they scored six. I’m just not convinced they’ve got a couple of big players out.
“Tyrone Mings, Emi Buendia out for the season, if they had them back, I think they could challenge the top-four. But I think, a fifth finish and a Europa Conference League win? Fantastic.”
