Bantams braced for Mike Williamson’s first MK Dons home
KEVIN McDonald says City will be ready for the new manager effect at MK Dons tonight.
The Bantams kick off this week’s away doubleheader with a first trip to Stadium MK since 2017.
They have won five of the last six visits there and face a struggling Dons team without a win in nine games, including a defeat at Accrington on Saturday.
But it will be the first home appearance under new boss Mike Williamson – and McDonald knows that must be factored into preparations.
City have experienced a bounce since the big Scot took the reins with three wins and a draw from his four games in caretaker charge.
McDonald said: “Obviously MK Dons have got a new manager and we’ll see how they are going to play and what way we’re going to set up.
“We’ll be ready for it. Come tonight, we’ll be at it whoever is playing, that’s for sure.”

McDonald may consider picking himself alongside Alex Gilliead to replace Richie Smallwood, an influential figure in City’s recent revival, who sits it out with a one-game ban.
Jamie Walker is out as well after he also collected a fifth yellow card in the Wrexham draw.
“That’s two players missing who have been really good for us,” added McDonald. “We’ve got decisions to make but that’s part of it.
“We’ve got a big squad with people on the bench and others who have missed out. We’ll look closely at that.”
