In the NFL, often the team that can stay the healthiest comes out on top and to this point, that has not been the Cleveland Browns. As the week of practice began, the Browns Week 9 injury report featured 20 different players who were dealing with injuries. Most notably, quarterback Deshaun Watson continues his elongated stint on the report this week as he continues nursing that a rotator cuff injury. That said, the Browns star signal caller was able to practice on a limited basis on Wednesday. Head coach Kevin
Stefanski remained typically mum on the subject of the former Texan, refusing to name any of his three QBs starters just yet. Watson’s progression throughout the week will be something to monitor. A number of players who exited or experienced injuries from Cleveland’s trip to Seattle find themselves on the list this week. Most notable of that group are Greg Newsome, rookie Dawand Jones and defensive end Za’Darius Smith. Of that trio, Stefanski expressed optimism over the status of Smith for the team’s home matchup with Arizona this weekend. As for the other two, Cleveland’s head man couldn’t specify if their injuries were longer term. At this point, neither has been placed on the IR, but that could become a
