Texas Rangers Offense Has Been Historically Efficient And Pretty Lucky

Red Sox eyeing two pitchers after missing out on Yoshinobu Yamamoto?

The Boston Red Sox talked a big game heading into the offseason but have failed to make much of an impact so far. They may look to change that after missing out on star pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

The Red Sox could target free-agent pitchers Blake Snell or Jordan Montgomery, who represent an “obvious pivot” from Yamamoto, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The Red Sox are in dire need of a No. 1 starter, and Snell and Montgomery represent the closest thing to that still on the market that would not require a significant trade.

Boston pledged to go “full throttle” entering the offseason, but one modest trade is all the Sox have managed. While they were in on Yamamoto, they did not appear to come close to landing him, as the Los Angeles Dodgers offered more money and a clearer path to contention.

After a last-place finish in the AL East, fans were hoping to see more aggression from the Red Sox this offseason. Perhaps they have tried, but they have swung and missed at every big name so far. Snell or Montgomery might be their last chance at making a big splash.
