NFL: Miami Dolphins projected to add Los Angeles Rams safety in 2024

The Miami Dolphins have been so good this 2023 season that it could be a problem for them come free agency. Why so? Well, with their players being noticed, those on expiring contracts could very well stolen by other teams looking to improve in free agency.

Some of Miami’s defensive players, particularly their safeties, are on expiring contracts and could end up leaving the team for greener pastures. That is the reason why Bleacher Report, in its recent free agency article, suggested for the team to target a low-cost but steady safety in the offseason.

Los Angeles Rams veteran Jordan Fuller could exactly be the player that the Dolphins need, as he fits the bill of the kind of safety that they need.

“Safety is an under-the-radar need for the Dolphins. The combination of DeShon Elliott and Jevon Holland have ben good for Miami. The problem is that Elliott, Brandon Jones and Elijah Campbell are all on expiring contracts. Elliott has turned in a good year, but that could mean he’s too expensive with other teams looking to poach him,” the BR article explained.

“If that happens, Jordan Fuller would be a good investment. He’s not going to make a ton of splash plays, but he’s a reliable and dependable veteran who could make sure the bottom doesn’t fall out.”

It definitely makes sense for the Miami Dolphins to make a push for Jordan Fuller, who is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2024. He is projected by PFF to command a contract in the range of  $9 million for two years, which should be attainable enough for the franchise.

Through Week 16 in the 2023 season so far, Fuller has tallied 85 combined tackles, two interceptions, seven passes defended and three forced fumbles.

It’s uncertain if the Rams will offer him a new contract considering that they still have other young safeties waiting for a chance. If not, the Dolphins could and should definitely pounce at the opportunity of signing him.

Miami Dolphins Can Have Continuity at Safety With Jordan Fuller

If the Miami Dolphins can land Jordan Fuller should he leave the Los Angeles Rams in free agency, they will be able to have some sort of continuity at the position. At just 25 years old, Fuller could be a long-term piece for them to further develop.
