Everton director of football Kevin Thelwell could be in his final season at Goodison Park if the Friedkin Group get their way.
The 51-year-old has held the role at Goodison Park since 2022, creating a relationship with Sean Dyche since his arrival in January 2023 and helping to redevelop the senior squad.
The Toffees’ recruitment has often been called into question, especially during the summer of 2020 when James Rodriguez, Ben Godfrey, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure arrived at Goodison Park in a heavy-spending transfer window.
That was, of course, not Thelwell’s fault in the slightest having not arrived on Merseyside yet, but it has meant that funds have not been as prevalent for the director of football to work with.
Now, after a plethora of new signings during the latest summer transfer window, which saw the likes of Iliman Ndiaye, Tim Iroegbunam and Jake O’Brien come through the door, they could be Thelwell’s final actions in charge.
According to La Repubblica [12 November], as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, Tottenham’s former managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, is seen as a potential addition to the staff at Goodison Park.
Paratici is already a “very heard voice” for the Friedkin Group at AS Roma and has been linked with a move to Merseyside as he continues to serve his FIFA-sanctioned ban from football worldwide.
