Norwich City fans are being asked to recreate the epic derby day atmosphere of last month’s win over Ipswich during the club’s most important game of the season.

Ahead of Sunday’s Championship play-off semi-final first leg against Daniel Farke’s Leeds, the Canaries’ have called for supporters to “create a sea of yellow”.

City are also asking fans to get to the ground early for the team’s arrival at around 10.30am, ahead of the midday kick-off, with live music planned.

Fan groups echoed the club’s call to arms and hope Carrow Road will be rocking.

Jon Punt of Along Come Norwich said: “It’s really important the fans are focussed, right from the off, in terms of getting behind the team.

“We need to recreate the atmosphere we had at the Ipswich game.

“Leeds’ away support is one of the most vocal in the division and their fans will be backing them from minute one.

“So we need to not only match their intensity but drown them out – we can’t be quiet during the play-offs.”

The Canaries lost both matches against Leeds during the season, with an especially bitter end to the game at Carrow Road, losing 3-2 in October after throwing away a two-goal lead, and losing 1-0 in January.

Alan Gee, of City Elite, added: “The drum will be there during the game and before it, welcoming the players in to start the day off right and bring that atmosphere early.

“Fans can’t just start loud, it has to continue for 90 minutes because that’s what their fans will be doing – we need to make it a hostile environment.

“Leeds are such a strong side so we can’t dwell on the last performances because they were dire.

“If the players are playing 100pc the crowd can lift them up and provide that support, but we need to step up.”
