Wrexham now pushing to sign ‘brilliant leader’ from League One club
Wrexham continue to be linked with new signings this summer as Phil Parkinson prepares his squad for life in League One.
The summer transfer window is upon us and we have already started to see business being done in League One.
Rotherham United are leading the way with Steve Evans already racking up a staggering six signings after relegation from the Championship.
Jonson Clarke-Harris, Reece James, Shaun McWilliams, Joe Powell, Joe Rafferty and Sean Raggett have all joined the Millers.
Steve Evans has been going wild in the transfer market upon his return to South Yorkshire but Wrexham are yet to get involved in the transfer activity.
Phil Parkinson has already announced his retained list but Wrexham fans are now left waiting to find out who is coming in this summer.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds continue to back Wrexham admirably and they could launch a raid on a League One rival.
Wrexham want Wigan Athletic’s Jason Kerr
We saw Wrexham being linked with three released Wigan Athletic players in May.
Left back Tom Pearce as well as strikers Stephen Humphrys and Josh Magennis are all thought to on Wrexham’s wish list after leaving the Latics.
Now, it’s an out-of-contract Wigan player who the Latics would actually quite like to keep.
The Rob Ryan Red podcast report that Wrexham are now ‘pushing’ to bring Wigan defender Jason Kerr to the STōK Cae Ras.
It’s stated that Kerr is ‘well liked’ by Parkinson and the Wrexham staff and the hope is that he will head to Wales this summer.
There is still work to be done though and Wrexham are understood to face competition from Scottish clubs in the race for Kerr’s signature.
Peterborough United – managed by former Wrexham midfielder Darren Ferguson – are also thought to be interested.
