Milwaukee Brewers: Rhys Hoskins Confident That Philadelphia Phillies Fans Will Make His Return Special
The Milwaukee Brewers inked Rhys Hoskins to a two year, $34 million deal during the off-season with the potential for a third year. Hoskins had previously established himself as a consistent power threat, run producer, and clutch playoff performer with the Philadelphia Phillies. On Monday, June 3 he will make his return to Citizens Bank Park in what should be a special moment.
After helping the Phillies win the pennant in 2022 Rhys Hoskins suffered an ACL tear during spring training and missed the entire 2023 season that included the playoffs. With the Brewers this year he checked all the necessary boxes to return to full baseball participation but unfortunately suffered a hamstring injury in the middle of May. Thankfully he recovered quickly and was activated off the injured list on May 31 and has a few games underneath his belt prior to returning to face the Phillies for the first time.
Rhys Hoskins believes Philadelphia Philly fans will make his return special.
In a publication from the Philadelphia Inquirer Rhys Hoskins spoke on how his ending with the Phillies didn’t seem right and that perhaps he can get some closure during his return. He also acknowledged that he has seen fans make returns special for other players in the past.
“But hopefully I’ll get some closure from that perspective when I go back. I’ve seen the way those people and the fans of Philly react to people coming back who made an impact there. It’s special.”
