The 21-year-old has been offered a new contract but interest is mounting for the deep lying playmaker, with the Sky Blues and Swansea in the Championship reported to be ‘keen,’ according to our sister title the Daily Record, while Bologna, the report claims, have joined the growing list of Italian clubs who are weighing up a summer move for the player.

Now SunSport are reporting that Rangers’ boss Philippe Clement – a former Sky Blues player – is at the front of the queue to land the Scotland under-21 star this summer.

The 21-year-old still has suitors in Italy and England, with Cagliari heading the interest from Serie A, it is claimed. But Gers, who have already signed Jefte, Oscar Cortes and Clinton Nsiala this summer, are keen to land him.

It’s understood Barron has been on a short break in Portugal but could fly back for a medical and contract talks.

Aberdeen would be due compensation for a player who has come through the youth ranks at Pittodrie. If Barron heads for Italy, the compensation payment could be as high as £500,000 due to cross-border rules

Megan Longworth admits supporting Blackburn Rovers from the Ewood Park stands gives her a real sense of pride that she can enjoy with her family.

Megan has supported Rovers for her whole life, and attends home fixtures with her parents, grandparents, other family members and partner, making it a real family experience at Ewood Park.

“I have had my season ticket since I was 10 months old, I remember coming in my mum’s papoose,” explained Megan.

“We sit in the Blackburn End just above the goal and I come with my mum, dad, brother, cousin, boyfriend and, on occasions, my grandad and grandpa come along. It’s a family outing.

“I have a commitment to the club, come rain or shine. I was born and bred into it, the whole family have supported Rovers, so as you can see it runs in the family.”

Megan has had some fantastic memories following Rovers, including seeing the club win the 2002 League Cup in Cardiff against Tottenham Hotspur, the Premier League campaigns and promotion from Sky Bet League One in 2017/18.

Her all-time Rovers hero is Morten Gamst Pedersen and our former Norwegian star delivered some memorable performances in his nine-year stay at Ewood Park from 2004-2013, making over 300 appearances for the club.

She added: “My first memory is attending the 2002 Worthington Cup Final at the Millenium Stadium against Tottenham Hotspur. It was a family day out and mine and my brother’s first final for Rovers.

“I absolutely loved the seasons when Pedersen played, he was my idol, he made tremendous contributions to the club and he wasn’t too bad on the eye, either!

“Another memory that I always look back on was when we were promoted from League One to the Championship – again another family outing! This time our grandmas even came along.”

As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations of our historic Premier League title triumph, we are delighted to offer supporters a reduction in season ticket prices for the upcoming campaign.

Last season’s early-bird price of £379 for adults has been reduced by £30 to £349.

This great value offer will provide supporters with a saving of over £200 against equivalent match ticket prices in the entire lower bowl of the stadium.

Alongside this, all Under-12s will now be able to access a season ticket for the equivalent of just £1 per game, courtesy of our ‘Kids for a Quid’ offer, as we look to welcome the next generation of supporters to Ewood Park.

As the club’s Her Game Too ambassador, Megan also spends her matchdays at Ewood Park in the club’s Fanzone, speaking to her fellow supporters.

Megan wants to encourage other Rovers fans to purchase their season tickets and support John Eustace and the team for the 2024-25 campaign.

She concluded: “I’m now a Her Game Too ambassador for the club, so sometimes I’ll make my way down earlier and enjoy the Fanzone with a beer and my boyfriend and chat to some of the fans about their experiences.

“Buying a season ticket means you’re committed to your club, it means no matter the score you’re behind them and can back them. There’s always going to be some tough seasons, but if you’re 100% committed, then, I believe so will the team.”
