New figures have emerged that suggest Coventry City are paying Huddersfield Town a lot less for Jack Rudoni than has previously been reported.
The Sky Blues secured their third summer signing last week when they completed a deal for the 23-year-old, who has joined the Championship club on a four year deal, with an option of a further 12 months.
The player duly passed his medical and City confirmed the transfer the same evening, insisting they had agreed an undisclosed fee for his services.
The Sun’s Alan Nixon maintained the deal was worth an initial £6m and could rise to £10m, while sources in West Yorkshire suggested the fee was a lot less that £5m, and nearer to £4m.
The BBC, meanwhile, claim the figure to be even lower, with Nick Mashiter and his colleague Nizaar Kinsella posting on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter : Initial fee for Rudoni around £3.6m-£3.8m with a few add-ons. Transfer won’t reach as much as £5m.

If the latest Coventry City transfer speculation is to be believed, the Sky Blues have been given permission to speak to Nottingham Forest centre-back Joe Worrall.
That’s according to The Sun’s transfer specialist Alan Nixon who claims City, along with fellow Championship rivals Sheffield United, have been granted permission to talk to the 27-year-old centre-back, whom the Reds are keen to sell. However, the report says, Coventry are looking for a loan rather than a permanent deal, which may well prove a sticking point for Forest who would prefer to cash in on the £4m rated defender who is contracted at the City Ground until 2026.
Mark Robins has already added Luis Binks to his rearguard, re-signing the 22-year-old left sided centre-half on a permanent deal following an encouraging season-long loan from Bologna. That means he continues to have four central defenders for the forthcoming campaign, two right-sided players in Bobby Thomas and Joel Latibeaudiere and two for the left in Liam Kitching and Binks.
