Ambitious loan attempt being made for Brentford player – Thomas Frank may not be keen
According to a claim in the Italian media, Udinese are showing interest in Brentford defender Mad Roerslev.
The Serie A side are looking to bolster their squad in this transfer window and the Dane looks to be an option. Simone Pafundi has already been recalled to the squad following his loan spell with FC Lausanne-Sport during the first half of the season.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports on the developments regarding Udinese’s pursuit for the Brentford player and says the Italian side have already taken steps to secure his services.
It’s claimed contact has been made for the right back, but it’s not indicated whether it’s Roerslev’s agent who has been approached or Brentford. The Italian journalist reports Udinese are looking for a loan deal for the Denmark international.
There are no indications if Brentford would be willing offload Roerslev during this transfer window, but it does seem unlikely that Thomas Frank would want to lose any key squad players this month.
Roerslev has made 11 appearances for the Bees this season and has started their last three Premier League games. He’s contracted to the London club until June 2026.

Brentford ‘remain vigilant’ to sign 26-year-old – Could face Sevilla and Sporting tussle
Brentford and Sevilla ‘remain vigilant’ to the situation around Ricardo Velho, and whether there’s a chance to make a move for the 26-year-old.
That’s according to Thursday’s edition of Record, which covers Sporting CP’s efforts to sign a new goalkeeper before the end of the January window.
According to Record, Sporting’s priority is Real Betis’ Rui Silva, and that’s where they’re currently making the most effort. The Portuguese club have offered Betis a loan deal with a purchase option set at €3m.
However, Betis are asking for the purchase option to be set at €5m.
Another option for Sporting is Ricardo Velho, and that’s where Brentford and Sevilla come in. Farense turned down a €6m offer in the summer for the goalkeeper, but it’s unclear how much they’d want now.
Velho has a €15m release clause in his Farense contract, although it’s not thought that a club will have to match that to get a deal done.
As it stands, Brentford and Sevilla are presented as waiting to see what happens. Watford have been repeatedly linked with Velho over the past year, but there’s no Hornets mention in this report.
